Is My Cancún Itinerary Too Busy?

Is My Cancún Itinerary Too Busy?
Transport 6 answers • Hyeon
I'm planning my first trip to Cancún during Christmas week for 9 days. My plan involves staying at four different hotels across three areas: Cancún's Hotel Zone, Isla Mujeres, and Akumal. I want to explore as much as possible while still having time to relax. Do you think my itinerary is too packed? Would you recommend simplifying it or keeping it as planned?

Considering age and income, the money saved may not be worth the inconvenience of checking in and out.

A group of six people could save two thousand dollars by choosing non-all-inclusive hotels for three nights.

You were doing well until day seven. However, visiting Akumal on the same day you return from Isla Mujeres is too long. Consider staying in Cancún or Isla Mujeres instead. You could take the Isla Contoy tour from Isla Mujeres, spend another day in Cancún, and then have a comfortable drive to the airport if you leave from Cancún with plenty of time.

Given its small size, is Isla Mujeres a suitable destination for a two-night stay?

Isla Mujeres receives mixed reviews, and some people might find it overhyped. You may want to consider alternative options.

Be aware that eating and drinking away from your all-inclusive resort can be quite expensive, which might offset the savings you're trying to achieve by checking out.
