Zumana Opens in Kuta: A Game-Changer or Just Another Beach Bar?

Earlier this week, I had the chance to visit the newly opened Zumana in Kuta, and it’s safe to say that this venue is a significant addition to the area. From the moment you step into its entrance, the panoramic views and Zenía sculpture make for a truly mesmerizing experience. But is it just another beach bar, or has Zumana truly disrupted the norm?

Zumana is the latest project from the Savaya Group, known for their high-end venues like Desa Kitsune and Omnia. Designed by the renowned Rockwell Group, this venue aims to seamlessly blend day and night activities, creating a unique atmosphere that transitions naturally from one to the other. The venue offers multiple entrances, including a beachfront promenade, basement parking, and a mall-inspired walkway leading to the main entrance. These thoughtful design choices reflect the group's commitment to excellence.

However, Kuta’s reputation as a lively yet sometimes chaotic destination remains a challenge. I spoke with Zumana’s chief marketing officer, Zoe, who assured me that the brand’s strong presence in Uluwatu and Canggu would help attract visitors to Kuta. She believes that the project will resonate particularly well with those from the Seminyak area, as well.

The venue also boasts a separate freestanding restaurant, Manuza, which will serve Asian and Mediterranean fusion cuisine. With its impressive design and attention to detail, Manuza promises to be a standout on its own. Zumana’s grand opening, scheduled for September 25 and 26, is sure to be a hot-ticket event, with a lineup of top DJs.
