This Weekend: Get Ready to Lose Your Phone Line if It Ends in 3
The big day is here, and starting this Sunday, October 4th, all cell phones ending in 3 that haven't been linked to a valid CURP will face a temporary service suspension. I've been outdoors a lot lately, and it's always sunny in Cancún, but this news is a bit of a cloud on my otherwise clear days. The suspension is part of a national effort to register mobile lines, which is all about reducing anonymous usage and combating crimes like extortions and fraud.

So, if your number ends in 3, make sure you're ready. I've found the market here smells of fresh fish, and the beaches are perfect for a swim, but don't forget to check your phone!
It's a reminder that even in paradise, we can't just ignore our tech responsibilities. If you haven't registered your number yet, it's not too late. Just visit your carrier or do it online. The service will be back up and running once you complete the process.
Don't let this cloud your day. Just stay connected and enjoy the sunshine, as long as your phone is connected too!
