Isla Mujeres Expands Healthcare Services for Residents
Since arriving in Cancún in 2024 from Germany, I've been trying to navigate the healthcare system here. Today, the DIF Isla Mujeres program announced extended consultations with specialists. These services are now available without needing to leave the municipality, making healthcare more accessible.

The program, under the leadership of Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, covers a range of specialties including trauma, psychology, psychiatry, gynecology, dermatology, pediatrics, and audiology.
Today, the first audiometry consultation took place. The services offered include ear cleaning, examination, and audiological assessments. Patients can also purchase, have fitted, and get molds made for their hearing aids.
For the upcoming week, a dermatology consultation with Dr. Olaine Gray is scheduled for September 29th. This is in addition to the other specialties covered by the program, providing a comprehensive range of healthcare options for residents of Isla Mujeres.
Arrived in Cancún in 2024 from Germany. Still figuring things out, writing it down as it happens.
