Is it reasonable to walk from Hotel Arts to the Saddledome?

I'm planning to walk with my two teenagers from Hotel Arts to the Saddledome in November for a concert. We're looking for a traffic-free and parking-free experience, but I'm concerned about the 12-minute walk being safe and reasonable for my kids and me.
