Up to $679 in Government Benefits Coming Next Week for Toronto Families
Toronto expat Declan, a lifelong resident, highlights the upcoming Canada Child Benefit (CCB) payment, which could bring up to $679 to eligible families next week. This benefit is designed to support families with children under 18, helping to manage the costs of raising them.

Eligibility Requirements:
- You live with a child under 18
- You’re responsible for the care and upbringing of the child
- You’re a resident of Canada
- You’re not applying for a foster child who already receives the Children’s Special Allowance (CSA)
The benefit amount is determined based on your family’s net income and the number of children you have. Families with children under six can receive up to $8,157 per year, or $679.75 per month, while families with children aged 6 to 17 can get up to $6,883 per year, or $573.58 per month.
The CCB payment is scheduled to be distributed on Tuesday, October 20, with subsequent payments on November 20 and December 11.
Those who qualify for the disability tax credit could also receive the Child Disability Benefit (CDB), which provides up to $3,480 or $290 per month for each eligible child.
For those not receiving the benefit, the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website is the go-to resource for applying and checking eligibility.
