Calgary's Quality of Life Declining: Calgary Foundation Report
The Calgary Foundation has released a report indicating that the quality of life for Calgarians has declined, with only half of respondents rating their quality of life as good or excellent compared to 75% in 2020. The report highlights issues such as affordability and food insecurity, with some positive aspects like reduced housing-related stress and a lower rate of people considering leaving the city. The vice president of communications for the Calgary Foundation, Taylor Barrie, notes that although Calgary is still considered a great place to live, there is pressure on quality of life due to rising costs and reduced capacity for giving back.

One of the survey's notable findings is the significant drop in people looking to leave Calgary in the next five years, with only 17% expressing this intention, down from 30% in 2021. The report also mentions that younger and older Calgarians still view the city favorably, with support dropping slightly for those in the 35-64 age range.
Despite the overall positive view, the Calgary Foundation's report points to challenges in areas like affordability and safety that affect Calgarians' daily lives. This information is crucial for expats and digital nomads to understand the current state of the city.
