A boil water advisory has been issued for approximately 100 homes in the Eagle Ridge and Heritage Park areas of southwest Calgary. This advisory came into effect on Friday evening, following an unanticipated depressurization during ongoing water main repairs in the region.

Residents in the affected area are advised to bring all tap water to a rolling boil for one full minute before consumption. This precautionary measure applies to drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and cleaning raw foods, among other activities. It's important to note that in-home water filters are not sufficient, and boiled water must be used in these filters as well.

The City of Calgary has closed the southbound lanes of 14 Street SW between 75 Avenue SW and Heritage Drive SW until further notice to expedite the repair work. Crews will be working extended hours over the weekend to complete the repairs and restore at least one southbound lane.

For expats and digital nomads living in Calgary, this advisory means you should take extra precautions with your water use. Ensure you have a supply of boiled water for drinking and cooking, and consider using bottled water for any non-boiling needs.
