Beakerhead Returns to Calgary with Epic Opening Party at Telus Spark
Calgarians and visitors alike can look forward to a thrilling return of Beakerhead, the signature festival of science, art, and engineering, as it kicks off with an epic opening party at Telus Spark Science Centre.

The three-day event, known as Petri Dish by Beakerhead, will run from November 6 to 8, 2026. The festival will feature an adults-only opening-night party on Friday, Nov. 6, with highlights including HACSA medieval armoured combat, fire vs. ice experiments, and a live planetarium show. On Saturday, Nov. 7, Telus Spark will offer free programming, and Sunday, Nov. 8, will see reduced admission prices for those looking to extend their experience.
For residents and visitors, this means a weekend filled with hands-on activities, talks, and performances, all aimed at sparking curiosity and fostering community engagement. The festival also offers an opportunity to explore off-site programming at the University of Calgary, with events like the sold-out Brew Lab and Seven Wonders.
If you're in Calgary during the first weekend of November, make sure to mark your calendars and get ready for a fun and enriching experience.
