300,000 Expected for Grey Cup Festival: A Boost for Calgary's Economy
With less than three weeks until the 113th Grey Cup, organizers are gearing up for a significant influx of visitors to Calgary. Karen Dommett, executive director of the 2026 Grey Cup, predicts that upwards of 300,000 people will flock to Stampede Park from November 11 to 14, providing a substantial economic boost to the city.

The festival will offer a mix of free and ticketed events, including live entertainment, family-friendly activities, and unique experiences. The Suncor Street Festival will feature live music, a licensed beer garden, and outdoor activities. Families can explore the free Telus Family Zone inside the BMO Centre, while music fans will enjoy performances by artists such as The Trews, Alan Doyle, and The Strumbellas.
Football enthusiasts can participate in the FanDuel Team Parties at the BMO Centre, with themed spaces representing teams from across Canada. Saturday’s schedule will also include rodeo performances at the Nutrien Western Event Centre and a cheer showcase at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Despite the Stampeders' absence, the festival promises to be a major event for the city.
