Calgary Q&A

I'm moving out of my Calgary rental and my lease requires professional steam cleaning, but the carpet is already clean with no significant stains or damage.

I've been thinking about my favorite pizza joint from the late 90s/early 2000s, Wicked Wedge, which was located on 17th Avenue. I remember it being super busy and loved their pizza. I think they sold to a new owner shortly after I moved away and they didn't last long after. Anyone know who the original owner was and why the new owners couldn't keep a gold mine going?

I just found out that my wife's special ballot wasn't received, but she was able to vote in person. This is concerning because how many other Albertans think their ballots were cast when they weren't?

We're considering buying a home in Bowness, looking for a low-crime area with great public schools and access to river pathways. We've heard concerns about bullying at the local junior high and high school, which is a major concern for us as parents who experienced bullying in the past.

My Kenmore washer has recently stopped draining and despite best efforts we've been unable to fix it. Hoping for recommendations for reliable appliance repairs.

I'm planning some renovations in my 1992 house, including removing the popcorn ceiling, old lino flooring, and getting into the drywall.

I'm looking for stores that sell basic t-shirts similar to Old Navy style but better quality. I'd prefer to try them in-store, not just online.

We got notice a week or so ago that they were going to shut down an intersection near us for the upgrades. At the beginning of this week, the traffic was rerouted down a very narrow residential street and the city put out their mobile no parking signs on one side of the street. Transit buses are now navigating this, along with all the rerouted traffic to/from Sarcee plus the regular local traffic.

I'm selling a vehicle on Autotrader and a potential buyer asked for a Carfax report, but then asked for a 'vin search' report that costs $77. He said Carfax doesn't reveal everything. Is this a scam?

I've been looking for Alani drinks with flavors like Witches Brew, but all I can find at my local Walmart are cherry, Hawaiian twist, and peach. Does anyone know if they have the other flavors somewhere else?

I'm considering heading to a concert there in June and want to know about the sound quality.

My girlfriend and I just moved into a house with a fireplace and we like to have a fire pretty often, but we don't have a pickup truck or any way of getting a huge load of wood. We're looking to spend around $100-150 at a time and local delivery would be ideal, but we also have a SUV to load up if needed.

I took my Dad to the Wranglers game Friday night and the Hitman game this afternoon. Both were SUPER low attendance, no one cheering. Minor hockey routinely louder.

I used to buy turkey legs in Calgary, but I haven't been able to find them in stores lately. I'm looking for a grocery store that sells them.

I've recently started my own small business hosting community, corporate, and private art events in Calgary. The focus is on creative exploration, expression, and enjoying the process rather than worrying about the finished product. I've been reaching out to local artists, breweries, cafes, and galleries, but I'm wondering what else I could be doing to make connections.

We just got a Lennox furnace installed and the technician from Atco said the circuit board is dead and needs to be replaced. The model is a Lennox G40UH-48C-110-04 gas furnace and the current installed circuit board is the Lennox SureLight 32M8801. We're worried about warranty issues if we do it ourselves.

I'm tired of drivers who keep driving after clearly seeing me attempting to walk. At least once a week there is a driver that does this, and cars go too fast for me to take a photo of.

A month ago, the Environment Minister said Alberta Environment would work with the City of Calgary to investigate whether materials that were not permitted under ECCO's environmental approvals were present at the landfill. I'm still waiting for answers to my questions about the investigation, including what was actually burning and whether any prohibited materials were present.

I've been prioritizing cleaner ingredients and a small 200g bag of organic walnuts is like $11 at Superstore, which I think is a bit steep.

I've been feeling under the weather for weeks and I'm starting to think it's not just a cold or flu. I've been anemic for a while, so I'm wondering if that's making me more susceptible to illness. Has anyone else been dealing with a lingering cold or flu in Calgary?
