Bangkok now has its own page on ExpatsList, alongside Koh Phangan and Koh Samui on the Thailand hub. It is the city most long stays in the region pass through, and a great many of them end there: the deepest supply of hospitals, international schools, visa services and coworking space in Thailand, on a rail network that makes owning a car pointless.

The starter-pack guide covers the parts that catch people out. Two airports on opposite sides of the city, a visa landscape that changes faster than the forums do, the haze season from January to April, and which neighbourhoods actually suit which kind of stay.

Recommendations, questions and classifieds for the city open from today. This first post is a placeholder while the city fills up.
