Handyperson to level huge bookcase with shims?
Services 2 answers • Nathan Harper
I'm looking for a handyperson to help level a huge, heavy bookcase in my East Cobb home. The bookcase is 95 inches tall and over 100 inches wide, and it needs to be shimmed to compensate for a sloped floor. It comes apart in five pieces, so it's a bit of a challenge to work with.

My friend who works with this kind of stuff would probably start by checking the floor slope before doing anything else.

The bookcase appears to be sitting on carpet. To move it, you'll need to cut the carpet and clean the hardwood. Then, check the level and proceed from there. You may or may not need shims. Hiring two people at $130 per hour or one person at $75 per hour is feasible if you know someone. Lead services may charge a fee to subcontractors.
