I'm planning a Halloween costume and want to take some eerie photos to go along with it. I'm looking for places around Atlanta with a creepy, gothic, abandoned, or unsettling atmosphere, without trespassing or putting myself in danger.

Have you considered the Doll's Head Trail? It's a trailside attraction with a great cause, and it's got an eerie vibe that might fit what you're looking for.

Oakland Cemetery is a good option, as long as you're respectful and don't bring any big professional equipment. Their website says that's okay, though.

Just be respectful, and you should be fine. You might even get some great photos.

I've had friends get married at Oakland, and I think it's lovely that people find beauty and joy in a place where someone's been laid to rest. If you're respectful, you might be able to get some great photos there.

I used to take my dog to Oakland for walks and fetch, and it's really my favorite place in town to spend some time.
