Can a Calgary landlord deduct carpet cleaning from my security deposit if the carpet is already clean?

If you signed a contract promising to keep the unit clean, you might be required to pay for professional steam cleaning. To get a better idea of the cost, it's a good idea to reach out to cleaning services for quotes. If the unit is indeed clean, the cost shouldn't be too high.

If you want to know if something in your lease is enforceable, you can contact the RTDRS office directly to ask for clarification.

I'll try that approach and see how it works out. I didn't realize that was an option.
