I'm trying to understand how end-of-service gratuity works in the UAE. If someone resigns from their job in Abu Dhabi, how is their gratuity calculated, and does the notice period or length of service affect the final amount?

To calculate your gratuity, divide your basic salary by 30 to get the daily rate. Then, multiply the daily rate by 21 to get the annual gratuity amount. Finally, multiply the annual gratuity amount by the number of years you've worked in the company.

Gratuity calculations vary based on your years of service. For 1-4 years of service, you receive 21 days of basic salary per year, while for 5 years or more, you receive 30 days of basic salary per year. Any unused annual leave is also added to the calculation.
