Tulum has once again been named the most romantic destination in Mexico and Central America, marking the second consecutive year of the title. This year, three resorts bearing the town's name have won four more titles, including Conrad Tulum taking two awards: the Mexico's Leading Luxury Resort and Leading Luxury All-Inclusive Resort, and Hilton Tulum winning the Mexico's Leading All-Inclusive Resort title. The regional beach title, which Tulum held from 2022 to 2024, is now held by Cancún, which took the regional Leading Beach Destination title and Mexico's Leading Destination for the first time since 2025. The Tulum municipal tourism office has been emphasizing the destination's appeal to the wedding industry, and the awards ceremony was held at the Princess Grand Jamaica in the 33rd edition of the World Travel Awards.

Haydee Hernández Pastrana, Tulum's director general of tourism, praised the winners and noted that such recognitions need coordinated efforts among the businesses, chambers, and offices selling the destination for them to have significance in the following season.
While the sand and beaches are a highlight, the awards have also highlighted the town's other attractions, such as Conrad Tulum's two titles and Hilton Tulum's victory in the Leading All-Inclusive Resort category.
