Lithium battery removal services in Toronto?
I have my old 2010 MacBook Pro and an iPhone 4 that both have swollen and puffy lithium batteries. Apple said they will recycle the devices but I want to keep them, just need the batteries taken out.

If you want to be extra cautious, consider doing the repair outside with safety gear like gloves and eye protection. You'll need a bucket of sand to catch any debris. The back panel slides off and can be lifted with a few screws. The battery ribbon cable just needs to be disconnected or cut. The adhesive holding the battery in place can be removed after many years, but it's still a good idea to be gentle. The battery can be recycled at the end of the process. Please be aware that this is a DIY repair and you do it at your own risk, but I've done it successfully in the past.

A local electronics repair shop on Spadina downtown might be a good option for a battery replacement. They replaced my 14-pro model's battery for $60 a few months ago, and they're a legitimate business. I'd recommend them because they seem to be a more conventional choice.
