I'm planning a trip to Siem Reap and Phnom Penh in early January and I'm interested in trying out some of the nice restaurants in both cities. I've got a list of places I'd like to visit, including Cuisine Wat Damnak, Embassy, Chanrey Tree, and Malis, among others. Will any of these require bookings before we arrive?

To secure a table at a popular restaurant, I make a call ahead of time. This simple step ensures a spot is reserved without any additional cost.

In my experience, most restaurants in Siem Reap are not too busy, and I've never had to wait for a table. However, the Embassy restaurant was once too crowded for an immediate table, and my wife and I had to wait. The service can vary depending on the establishment - for instance, Romiet, a hotel restaurant located near some pubs, tends to get busier later in the evening. If you're looking for a 5-star dining experience, consider visiting before 6 pm.

It's a good idea to book a table in advance at a restaurant you're particularly keen on visiting, especially if it's a popular spot. This way, you can ensure a table is available when you want it.
