The coastal town of Puerto Morelos has seen significant improvements in its public services over the past year. During the second year of Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz’s administration, the municipality has undertaken several key projects. Notably, over 4,426 square meters of asphalt pavement have been rehabilitated, totaling a whopping 5.5 million pesos in investment. This initiative, part of the “Cero Baches” (Zero Potholes) program, has made a noticeable difference in the town's roads, making them safer and more accessible for residents and visitors alike.

Additionally, the town has installed over 3,000 luminaires in Puerto Morelos, Leona Vicario, and surrounding communities, significantly improving nighttime visibility and safety. The “Chuleando tu Colonia” program has also been a success, with 8,136 actions taken to clean and maintain parks and public spaces, and 7,000 actions performed on streets and avenues. This includes regular cleaning, trimming, and collection of waste, all of which contribute to a cleaner and more pleasant environment.

Efforts to clear drainage systems have also been noteworthy, with 5,409 actions taken to clean and maintain storm drains, reducing the risk of flooding and ensuring better water management.

These initiatives not only enhance the quality of life for residents but also make Puerto Morelos an even more attractive destination for expats and digital nomads.
