Miami Startup BOB Raises $5.5M for AI-Powered Finance Employee
Hey expats and digital nomads in Miami, have you heard about BOB, the AI-powered finance employee startup that just raised $5.5 million? Adam Wininger, the CEO and co-founder, has been working on this project and is bringing it to the small business owners who need a helping hand with their finances.

BOB is designed to operate through conversations, much like the ones you have with friends on WhatsApp or text messaging. It automates tasks like maintaining financial records, sending bills, and accepting payments. This means less time spent on paperwork and more time running your business.
The funding round was led by Mischief, a venture firm co-founded by Zach Perret, and included backing from Peter Thiel, who approached Wininger during a chance encounter. Other investors include Mark Pincus, founder of Zynga, and Karman Ventures. This diverse group of investors shows that there’s a lot of interest in AI-powered financial tools for small businesses.
The new capital will be used to expand BOB’s product capabilities and hire more talent in Miami. Already, 500 businesses have signed up, and BOB is free to use for now. If you’re running a small business or know someone who is, this could be a big improvement for managing finances.
