Miami’s Tech Education Pioneer: Arihant Jaggi’s Mission to Bridge the Digital Divide
From Miami to the global stage, 16-year-old Arihant Jaggi is making waves in the tech education landscape. As a senior at Cushman High School, Arihant co-founded the nonprofit Young Coders Initiative (YCI) to address the critical shortage of qualified computer science teachers in Miami schools. His innovative approach has not only brought coding to underserved neighborhoods but has also expanded internationally.

Recognizing the need during the 2022 teacher shortage, Arihant and his brother Aryaman started hosting coding sessions at the North Shore Library. YCI has since grown to include 18 active chapters across top regional schools, with over 4,000 volunteer hours logged by its 100+ high school volunteers. The organization has reached more than 10,000 students, including those in India and the UAE, through its Global Ambassadors Program.
For expats and digital nomads in Miami, YCI’s success story highlights the opportunities and challenges of contributing to local tech education. If you're interested in volunteering or want to know more about how to support this initiative, Arihant encourages everyone to get involved. 'This affects X,' he says, 'if you Y, expect Z.' This is not just a call to action but a chance to shape the future of tech education in South Florida.
