Food waste in tianguis and markets, can someone help?
I was walking back from university one day and noticed that the vendors in a market near my home were throwing away bags of fresh vegetables. I went back the next day and rescued the food, now I'm getting most of my groceries for free. It's really concerning to me that so much food is being wasted, especially since produce is expensive right now and many people in the city can't afford it. Would someone be willing to help me collect this waste and find a way to distribute it to those in need?

I wouldn't investigate what's being thrown away at the Iztapalapa central market, that's a whole different story

I understand you're young and idealistic, but the infrastructure to collect, store, and distribute unsold produce is too expensive for a product with a short shelf life, that's why markets just throw it away. If you want to help locally in your neighborhood, that's great, but a large-scale effort like you're imagining isn't cost-effective
