Best way to meet locals and fellow travelers in Mexico City?

I'll be in Mexico City the end of October, traveling solo after my original travel companion bailed. I'd like to meet new people and explore the city together. I might change my accommodations to a hostel because they often run activities that make it easier to find someone to hang out with.

To meet other travelers, consider checking out cafes or language exchange events in the city. You can also look up guided tours or activities for singles on various platforms. Starting a conversation with a local is easy - simply say 'hello' and ask a question about the weather or the city.

I booked local experiences through a popular accommodation platform. These were led by passionate locals who shared their knowledge and skills. I met some great people, both locals and fellow travelers, and enjoyed reasonably priced activities.

Are there any other activity booking apps you've tried in Mexico City, like Viator or GetYourGuide?

When traveling solo, I find that joining a free walking tour or a food tour often leads to meeting new people. Some of these acquaintances have even turned into social connections after the tour.

Have you explored other activity booking services in the city, such as those offered by Viator or GetYourGuide?

I didn't try any other activity booking services, but I can recommend two local experiences I booked that were really enjoyable - I'd be happy to share more details if you're interested!
