Best area to stay in LA for a short trip?

My husband and I are visiting LA in mid-December for two nights only, coming in from Palm Springs and flying out of LAX. We like to walk and explore, and want to see some touristy things, but have very limited time. Our flight out is at 8am.

For a unique experience, consider staying at the Silverlake Hotel or Hotel Covell, both of which offer great locations. The Cara Hotel is also an option, but it's a bit farther away from the action.

Los Feliz is a charming neighborhood with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, and tourist attractions. It's perfect for a leisurely stroll and is close to other popular areas. However, I personally prefer the eastside, finding it to have a more laid-back atmosphere than the west side.
