I took the top book off the wall in Los Feliz because I looked tired

A stack of books was sitting on a low wall in Los Feliz on Thursday, with a sticky note that read, the top one is for whoever looks tired. I looked tired. I took the top one. It was a very old paperback of poems with someone's handwriting in the margins. I have read it eleven times. I would like to meet the person who wrote in the margins. I left a book on the wall the next day. The top one is for whoever looks happy.
