Prepare for Rain and Storms This Week in La Libertad
It's a typical Monday morning in La Libertad, and the sky is just beginning to brighten. But by the afternoon, it looks like things will take a turn for the wet. The National Meteorological Service is warning of potential showers and storms, particularly in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec and Bálsamo mountain ranges, and in the Tecapa-Chinameca and northern Santa Ana, Chalatenango, Morazán, and La Unión regions.
By night, expect a mix of clouds and showers to blanket the central, western, and coastal areas, including La Libertad, San Salvador, and more. Rain will be accompanied by thunder and lightning, as well as gusty winds of over 35 km/h. While the day will be quite warm, expect it to cool off in the evening and early morning.
These conditions are due to the accelerated easterly flow and a low-pressure system in Central America, which will likely result in rain across the country. As a La Libertad resident or visitor, it's a good idea to have a good umbrella and maybe a raincoat on hand. Stay tuned for updates and be prepared for any changes in the weather.
