From Bricklayer to Global Consultant: Josías Jiménez’s Journey in El Zonte
Living in El Zonte, El Salvador, as a crypto enthusiast and expat, I often reflect on the stories that highlight the resilience and transformation of individuals like Josías Jiménez. At 14, Josías was on the brink of dropping out of school to work as a bricklayer, a path that many of his peers were following due to the pressure of gang violence and economic hardships. However, a chance encounter with the Oportunidades program at his school in San Marcos changed his trajectory entirely.
Supported by a scholarship from the Gloria Kriete Foundation, Josías completed his education, including a university degree in Industrial Engineering at Universidad Don Bosco. He then embarked on an international career, working alongside experienced consultants in Germany. His journey is a reflection of the power of education and mentorship in breaking cycles of poverty and violence.
Now based in El Zonte, Josías continues to inspire and support young people, sharing his experiences as a mentor and advocate for educational opportunities. His story is a powerful narrative of personal growth and societal impact.
