Screamfest Returns to Calgary: The Scariest Halloween Experience in Canada
It’s that time of year again when fear and fun collide, and Owen, the co-founder of a co-working space in Calgary, can't help but get excited. Screamfest, the 'largest' Halloween event in Canada, is set to take over Calgary this October, offering visitors a full month of haunted houses, games, and rides that will test your nerve.

Screamfest, which runs from 7 p.m. to midnight on select nights throughout October, promises seven haunted houses with unique themes. From the eerie The Dollhouse to the disturbing Slaughterhouse, each attraction is designed to scare adults, making it a night not recommended for younger kids. The event also features carnival rides, games, and movies, with a special adults-only night on October 22, 2026, offering cocktails and an after-dark film festival.
The tickets start at $35.40 for general admission, which includes entry to all haunted houses. For those who want to avoid the lines, the SpeedPass starts at $55.42 and includes admission, two additional entries, $16 in killer cash, and VIP service. This year, the event also features a new extreme zombie attraction, where actors can grab, pull, and chase participants.
As a co-working space owner, Owen understands the importance of such events for the community. While the excitement of Screamfest is undeniable, it’s worth noting that the event can get crowded, especially on weekends. Planning ahead and arriving early can help ensure you get the most out of the experience.
So, whether you’re a seasoned Halloween enthusiast or just looking for a thrill, Screamfest is your destination for the spookiest night of the year. Just remember to pack your bravest costume and a sense of adventure.
