I'm moving to Chicago from Texas and my mini van has no heated steering wheel or auto start features, and it's rear wheel drive.

I'm a lifelong resident of Chicago and can attest that the city's flat terrain makes it easy to navigate, even without all the fancy features. I've managed to survive the harsh winters without any issues.

Heated seats can be a wonderful comfort feature, especially during the cold winter months in Chicago.

While a mini van in Texas might not require all the extra features, it's still essential to have a reliable steering wheel. Even in a flat city like Chicago, AWD isn't much help, but heated seats and a secure steering wheel can be nice perks. If possible, consider parking your vehicle in a garage to protect it from the elements, critters, and potential break-ins.

My family's experience with a Honda Civic during a blizzard on New Year's Eve in 1978 taught us that it's not about the vehicle's features, but rather the driver's ability to navigate through challenging conditions. We were able to lift the car out of a snowdrift with the help of a few friends, and it was a valuable lesson in resourcefulness.
