Tulum Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo has confirmed that at least eight municipal police officers have been fired since the beginning of the year. These dismissals are a direct response to acts of corruption within the force. During a recent meeting with the Municipal Secretary of Public Safety, Edgar Aguilar, and the Director of Traffic, Jessica Orozco, the mayor emphasized the commitment to maintaining a corruption-free police force.
