I'm a 34-year-old woman living in downtown Toronto, and I've had my G2 expire. I've been trying to get my act together, but it's been a struggle. I'm hoping to start a family soon and I feel like not having a driver's license is affecting my dating life.

To learn to drive in Toronto, enroll in a reputable driving school and follow through with the program. It's not a complex process.

I immigrated to Canada and learned to drive without family assistance. I took lessons with a driving school located near Bloor and Lansdowne, which provided a positive experience overall. Having prior experience riding a bike downtown and being familiar with road rules helped, but the school still covered all necessary topics. Additionally, I had to study for and pass the G2 and G tests, which required a significant amount of time and effort.

Some people living in downtown Toronto might be unfamiliar with driving, which could contribute to their reaction.

He's a Canadian from Whitby, where driving is a common practice, so it's understandable that he might view driving as a natural part of life.

As someone who lives and works in downtown Toronto, I'm familiar with the city's transportation options. While I enjoy cars, I find it unusual for someone to be 'repulsed' by someone without a license in Toronto. In my experience, many people in the city prefer to walk or use public transportation, and I only drive when necessary. Even I didn't get my license right away and now only drive for longer trips.

I understand that not everyone shares the same perspective. Would you rather have a date with someone who doesn't have a license or a date who pays a significant amount for car insurance, potentially upwards of $5,000 to $8,000 per year.

The first step to obtaining a driver's license in Toronto is to retake the G1 test and then progress through the licensing process.
