Possible Grab scam in Thailand?

I've been back in the UK since 5 October and I'm disputing charges on my Grab account for orders I didn't place. I'm trying to understand how this could have happened.

We used a Thai SIM for Grab, but it's possible the number was reused if it was an eSIM that had expired. Alternatively, if we bought a physical SIM from a small store without using ID, the SIM might have been cloned. This issue is quite common in countries like Vietnam, so it's likely a problem in Thailand as well.

We had a UK SIM while we were in Thailand for a month. The food was delivered to our accommodation, and I still have the SIM card with me.

Based on the information provided, it seems likely that the emails are a phishing attempt. The sender is trying to trick you into revealing sensitive information.

To resolve the issue, dispute the charges and provide clear proof or documentation if possible. Grab should be able to assist you in this matter.

Your location should be able to verify that the charges are not legitimate. However, I've experienced issues like this when traveling abroad, and I'm not sure why it's still happening in your case. Be cautious of the email and its intentions.

Initially, I thought the email was a scam, but I checked my Grab history and found that the orders were indeed placed.

If the default payment method is cash, then how did the person or scammer who ordered the food get away with it without paying in cash? It seems there's a discrepancy in the situation.

The delivery drivers were calling my phone, asking me to come to the hotel reception, but I was already back in the UK. So, the person who ordered the food must have been someone else.
