I'm planning to move to Mexico City and I've been looking at apartments in the north of the city, specifically in the Martín Carrera neighborhood. I've found some options for 4-5,000 pesos a month, but I'm not sure if it's enough for me to live comfortably. I have a car, but I plan to use public transportation most of the time.

There are rentals for 5k in the area.

More like rooms in a shared apartment, I'm actually considering living with a couple of friends in a two-bedroom apartment.

This neighborhood has a mix of options, but if you're looking for a budget-friendly choice or a place with a private bathroom, you might need to settle for something less ideal.

I think you could live relatively well and save some money if you're careful with your spending.

The biggest cost in Mexico City is definitely housing. If you've already got that sorted for 4-5k, you're doing well. Transportation won't cost you much, public transportation is the most complete and affordable in the country. Food is cheap if you cook at home, but eating out can range from 50 to 500 pesos depending on where you go. Services are a bit more expensive, with electricity being the most costly.

You're right, with 15k after rent, you'd be doing well, especially if you're single. The only thing to consider is whether you really need a car, they're expensive to maintain and park.

I lived on 13,000 pesos, so don't worry.
