Los Cabos Reaches 12,000 Emergency Services: A Lifeline for Families
Los Cabos, Mexico, As of late September 2026, the Sistema de Atención Médica de Urgencias (SAMU) in Baja California Sur has surpassed 12,000 emergency services, marking a significant milestone for the region. This means that residents and expats like myself, who moved here with my two kids in 2022, can rest a little easier knowing that emergency medical care is readily available.

According to the latest update, the SAMU has been providing support in four municipalities. Los Cabos is set to get its own new emergency coordination center, which will enhance the response time and coordination of emergency services.
