Cabo Real Wave Pool Fills Up: A Surfing Revolution Hits Los Cabos
After years of planning and months of construction, the Cabo Real Surf Club development has finally turned on the water and begun filling its massive wave basin, marking Mexico's first artificial surf facility and a significant milestone for surf enthusiasts in Los Cabos.

The four-acre basin, which requires approximately seven million gallons of water, will take between 30 and 40 days to fill completely. Once filled, the ES48 pneumatic wave-generation system will create consistent surfable waves, with surfers expected to be riding them by early December. This development sits at the heart of a larger residential and amenity complex that includes a skateboard course, fitness studios, and wellness spas.
For expats and digital nomads living in Los Cabos, this is a game-changer. The wave pool offers consistent wave access, ideal for competitive surfers and a new attraction for visitors. Resident teen surfing star Erin Brooks, who recently won back-to-back World Surf League events, has already purchased a home in the development, citing the wave pool and training facilities as key reasons for her choice.
Expect to see more surf-related activities and events in Los Cabos, as this facility brings a new level of excitement to the area. For those interested in surfing or just curious about the latest developments in Los Cabos, this wave pool is definitely worth a visit.
