Westin Playa Vallarta or Velas Vallarta or any other options for a toddler?

My family and I are planning a 10-day trip to Puerto Vallarta during Christmas with a toddler. We're looking for a resort with good and safe food options, friendly staff and service, easy access to the beach, good pools, and options to venture out so we're not feeling stuck in the same environment.

We've been visiting Velas for 20 years and have always appreciated their kids club and kids pool. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the beach is easily accessible. While the food is standard resort fare, their breakfast buffet is a highlight, and we often opt for a light lunch by the pool or beach. When we're not cooking in our condo, we prefer to dine at local restaurants in the marina or downtown area.

We recently returned from the Westin and were pleased with the service. Although the food options were limited, the nightly buffet was a standout, offering some of the best meals we had during our stay.

When visiting the Westin, be aware that the beach is not suitable for swimming due to crocodile warning signs. However, the beach does feature comfortable loungers and cabanas. The pool area is well-maintained and a safe haven for young children, such as toddlers.

The JW Marriott is a nearby hotel located adjacent to the Westin.
