Is Tabacalera a good option for hosting my family?

I'm visiting Mexico City with my family and looking for a central location near representative places. I found an Airbnb in Tabacalera, but the reviews have mixed opinions about the area's safety. I also considered Coyoacan or Alamos, but they are out of our budget.

I would recommend Alamos over Tabacalera. Alamos is a safer, cleaner, and better-lit area. Tabacalera has changed for the better, but it still has a stigma from its past. It's a chaotic area close to protest zones, sex workers, and political party offices.

I wouldn't consider Tabacalera. Alamos is a good option, although it's a bit farther from the center. Another option is Narvarte Poniente, where you're relatively close to public transportation or can take an Uber if it's late.

I prefer Alamos to Tabacalera, but if you're used to walking in rough parts of big cities, you might be fine. I'd also consider the San Rafael neighborhood.

Tabacalera is a lively area with a lot of color. It's recently become a hub for immigrants and mid-range bars. I don't know your family, but do they like adventure? Alamos might be a better option for families.

Both Tabacalera and Alamos have a red-light district. In Tabacalera, it's near the Revolución metro, while in Alamos, it's near the Xola metro. It depends on your family's tolerance. I'd choose Alamos.
