Do locals plan their errands around the afternoon storms?

I do a lot of running around Brickell for work, and I have started to notice a pattern. From what I can tell, the afternoon thunderstorms in summer show up more often than not, and my late runs are the ones that go badly. I do not have real data, only my own delivery times. Do long-time residents move their errands to the morning in summer, or do people just wait out the storm inside a shop and carry on?
