What's the best way to plan a trip to Mexico City?

I'm visiting Mexico City every winter and I'm feeling overwhelmed creating my itinerary. I'm staying in Roma Norte area. Can anyone take a look and tell me if this looks okay or make any suggestions?

You might want to consider staying closer to your accommodations, especially after visiting Grutas. Friday is extremely busy, so it's a good idea to plan for a rest day. The Anthropology Museum could easily be a two-day visit, and Xochimilco on Monday is not a great idea. Chapu should definitely be its own day.

Friday is packed, even with the three museums being close to each other. The National Museum of Anthropology is enormous, so you wouldn't have time to see everything. If you skip Grutas de Tolantongo, you can plan your options better. Xochimilco is far from Polanco, which is worth keeping in mind.

Don't go to Tolantongo, you'll be committing most of the time.

People have told me that the Anthropology Museum is so massive that it would take multiple days to see everything.

Tolantongo is a great day trip, but the 3-4 hour round-trip journey to Coyoacán might leave you exhausted.

Consider replacing Barrio Chino with a quick visit to MUNAL. Mercado El 100 might not be worth visiting, but try Mercado Jamaica or Mercado de Sonora instead. Drop La Ciudadela and visit Museo de Arte Popular or FONART Reforma for high-quality souvenirs without sales pressure.

I disagree about skipping Tolantongo. It's a unique place with low crowds and a pool all to yourself, especially if you visit mid-week. Don't miss out on the opportunity to try some pulque, a local specialty from Hidalgo.
