I'm looking for a spot in Dallas where I can sit and smoke cigarettes, preferably outside of bars, since I'm sober. I live in a luxury community where smoking is banned, so I need an alternative location.

Outside of any gas station in Garland, you can usually find a spot to smoke. Just be sure to stand by the dumpster, as that's usually the designated area.

You might want to try the patio at Wild Detectives in Bishop Arts - they don't mind smokers, and it's a great place to sit and read for hours. Plus, they have a nice outdoor setup.

If you're looking for a place to smoke, you might want to consider your own car. It's not the ideal situation, but it's better than nothing. Most of Dallas has strict anti-smoking laws, including bars outside of a certain area in Addison. In fact, I've worked in a hotel where we don't even allow people to smoke outside the front door - we make them walk down the street to a designated area.
