What are some fun things to do in Playa del Carmen for a 5-day trip in October?

My boyfriend and I are pretty active people, we like hiking, exploring, eating food, the basics. We're going to Playa del Carmen for 5 days at the end of October.

We rented ebikes last year and had a blast riding across the city into the jungle to a beautiful cenote. It's a great way to explore the area and get some exercise at the same time.

Our itinerary included visiting cenotes, exploring Mayan ruins, and relaxing on the beach. We avoided Tulum, as it's still a popular tourist destination with some scams to watch out for. Chichen Itza was a highlight, but keep in mind it's about 2 hours away. We rented a car from Avis for $40 for 24 hours, which was a better deal than taking a taxi.
