Exploring Toronto’s New Bushidō: A 10-Course Dinner in Casa Loma’s Castle Suites
Located in the heart of Casa Loma, a 112-year-old Gothic Revival castle in Toronto, a new restaurant called Bushidō has opened its doors. This unique dining experience offers 16 guests a 10-course journey through four of the castle's heritage rooms, each with its own distinct ambiance and culinary delights.

The menu, helmed by executive sushi chef Yi-Joo Na, is a blend of kaiseki, a traditional multi-course Japanese dining style, and seasonal ingredients sourced directly from Japan. Each evening brings a new culinary adventure, with dishes ranging from cold bites and sushi in the gallery spaces to hot dishes in dining rooms closer to the kitchen, and a final dessert in the last room. The menu is kept under wraps, with nightly changes depending on the availability of ingredients, adding an element of surprise to the dining experience.
Each room is curated with a unique theme, including antique Asian objects, period furnishings, and contemporary art. The creative director, Nadia Di Donato, has brought together a blend of historical and modern elements, making each dining experience a visual and culinary masterpiece. The cost is $350 per person, with an optional $100 wine and sake pairing, and vegetarian options are available upon request.
