I'm considering taking a business opportunity in Augusta and commuting to Atlanta one or twice a week for acting classes and potentially student/indie films. Would this commute get old pretty quickly?

It's a truly underwhelming experience, especially if you're driving all the way to Columbia. The highway feels like a transitional zone.

My friend who lives in Columbia and I rarely make the trip because it's an incredibly dull experience. The three hours feel like an eternity.

I know someone who frequently makes this drive. They claim it's uneventful, but it's possible they're an exception.

The distance from Atlanta varies depending on your endpoint, but it's a fairly long 140 miles. Approximately 100 miles of it is a straight shot through pine tree-lined countryside with gentle curves.

The duration of this drive can vary depending on your starting location in Atlanta and your departure time. From my hometown, the drive takes just over two hours, but it's still quite dull.

I've taken to calling this stretch of road the Ambien Highway. Listening to audiobooks or podcasts is a good idea, as the drive can be quite monotonous.
