What was everyone's opinion on the Street Course?

I'm a long-time Chicago resident who's been here for over a decade, and I'm curious to know what others think about the Street Course. I've enjoyed it in the past, but I also understand the traffic concerns it brings to Lake Shore. I'd love to hear different perspectives on it.

Chicago's event was a great way to showcase the city's beauty and excitement. It was a fantastic experience, and I'm glad it brought some energy to the city.

I'm not a fan of NASCAR, but I thought the event looked impressive on TV.

I'm not a fan of using public land for private gain. The street closures caused by the event disrupted my commute for months. It's worth noting that Lolla pays tens of millions to close the streets for a week, while NASCAR paid less than a million for months of closures. I was also disappointed that parts of Grant Park were closed for two months, and the Lakefront Trail was affected. It's great to see the streets back open in downtown.

This response effectively summarizes my own thoughts on the matter.

The city lost money on the event, and there was little to no impact on hotel bookings. In fact, hotel bookings were negatively affected when the event was held.
