I'm looking for a new doctor and want to stay within the same healthcare ecosystem for easier record sharing and prescription access. I used to be in the Piedmont system but am now in the east side and considering the Emory system.

Emory healthcare providers can access Piedmont patient records through the electronic medical record system, Epic. This might simplify the transition process for patients moving to Emory.

Northside does not share data across all providers, which was evident during a recent surgery when I had to fill out paper copies of paperwork because they lacked an online record of my information.

Unless you're seeking specialized care, you'll likely have a similar experience at Emory and Piedmont. If you're happy with your current doctors, it's probably best to stay with Piedmont; if you're looking for new care, consider the provider with more locations in your area.

I would strongly recommend Emory, but strongly advise against Northside. I received multiple incorrect diagnoses from Northside physicians who didn't take the time to investigate further, culminating in a near-fatal situation. The hospital stay that followed was marred by medication errors, incorrect information, and a lack of suitable food options.
