I'm moving from Van Nuys to Tarzana and was quoted $2,680 by Northstar for a 2 bedroom apartment, no elevators, and a lot of furniture. Is this average?

A rough estimate would be helpful, including the number of large furniture pieces and boxes, as well as the distance to the new location. It's also a good idea to get multiple estimates in your area and compare them.

That price seems extremely high. Could you provide more information about the apartment and the new place, such as the height of the building and whether there are freight elevators available? Even with careful packing, the cost still seems excessive.

You're moving a significant amount of stuff, but the price you mentioned is still quite high. I've had good experiences with Excalibur movers for local moves, and they charged me less than $2,000 for a 120-mile move.

I agree that they're a great option. Their prices are reasonable and their service is reliable.

I've used Excalibur movers multiple times and have never had any issues or felt taken advantage of. They're a reliable and trustworthy option.

I recently moved to the north of the state, and I paid a similar amount for a move with a lot of furniture. However, my move was a bit different, as I had to navigate stairs at the new location.

Considering the amount of furniture and the no-elevator move, the price from Van Nuys to Tarzana seems relatively normal. Unfortunately, the stairs are adding to the overall cost.

When selecting a moving company, make sure to check if they're bonded and insured to protect your belongings and your financial investment.
