Tulum's Weekend Racing Success: A Global Model for Sports Tourism

According to Opemsa, the Tulum 100 event saw 22,783 attendees and generated 200 million pesos for the region. Held over two days, the race intentionally encouraged overnight stays, boosting the local economy and promoting Tulum as a destination for more than just sun and sand.

The broadcast numbers are impressive, with 2.8 million unique viewers across Latin America, and a peak of 85,000 concurrent viewers during the climax of the race. These numbers reflect the event's success and its potential to bring in international visitors.

Opemsa will present this event as a model at the World Sports Tourism Congress, marking a significant step for Tulum in showcasing its potential beyond traditional tourism.
