Sweet Halloween Surprise: A $1,000 Chocolate Skull in Toronto
It’s almost Halloween, and for sweet-toothed Torontonians, there’s a delicious surprise waiting in downtown Toronto. The Grand Order of Divine Sweets is hosting its fifth annual Grand Haunt, where participants can hunt for $1,000 hidden inside a giant chocolate skull.

The event, taking place on Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., promises a thrilling three-hour adventure through the downtown core. Visitors will visit five mystery locations, collect stamps, and finally make their way to the shop's Queen St. W. location to complete the challenge. Those who collect all five stamps will receive a sweet treat, and participants aged 18 and older have the chance to enter a draw for the grand prize.
‘Dressing up in costume will even earn you an extra draw from the Spooky Cauldron,’ says the shop, adding a bit of extra fun to the already exciting event. The shop, located at 1162 Queen St. W., has a history of hosting elaborate treasure hunts, including an Easter egg hunt with prize-filled treasure chests.
This event is not just a fun activity; it’s also a great opportunity for digital nomads and expats to experience a local Toronto tradition. If you’re looking for a unique Halloween celebration, this is the place to be. Follow the shop on Instagram for updates and to stay in the loop.
