Scheherazade Brings Arabian Nights to Tampa: A Musical Journey Through Time
From the enchanting tales of One Thousand and One Nights to the rugged landscapes of Appalachian Spring, The Florida Orchestra is offering a unique musical experience this October that's sure to captivate expats and digital nomads alike living in Tampa.

On October 16 and 17, the orchestra will perform Scheherazade at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater and The Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. This performance, part of the orchestra's new season, beautifully tells the story of One Thousand and One Nights, a beloved collection of Middle Eastern folktales, complemented by Karen LeFrak’s American Promise and Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring.
The event promises a transcendent experience, transporting audiences through time and across cultures. The lilting violin and bold brass will surely evoke the stories and myths that shaped these worlds. Tickets are limited and can be purchased from the Florida Orchestra's website.
As part of the orchestra's fall lineup, there are several other events that are not to be missed. On October 24, enjoy Pops in the Park in Vinoy Park, featuring blockbuster movie music, Broadway favorites, and classical hits. For music lovers, the John Williams celebration, marking his 95th birthday, will feature performances on October 30 and November 1. The Ginastera’s Harp Concerto and the Blue Danube & Beyond events, scheduled for November 6-21, are also must-see events.
